Internet access using eduroam

Before travelling, check

• if the eduroam and VPN connections work on your device and
• if the institute you are visiting supports this roaming service:
  research institutes in Germany that support eduroam
  research institutes worldwide that support eduroam

To connect via eduroam, you will need to install access to eduroam on your device.

Windows/iOS/MacOS/Linux: You call up the page https://cat.eduroam.org/ in the browser (Edge, Internet Explorer, Firefox, Chrome, Safari etc.) on the device concerned. Usually your operating system is recognised immediately and you only need to select the home organisation, in our case the University of Hohenheim, and follow the instructions. After that, other steps are necessary depending on the operating system. Here we refer to the installation instructions linked below.

Android: Download the "geteduroam" app onto your device and follow the instructions.

Test in Hohenheim

If you are planning on using eduroam outside of Hohenheim, it is a good idea to test it briefly on the premises before you leave. You can find eduroam networks in all areas on the campus equipped with WiFi.
