bwSync&Share is a cloud storage such as Google Drive, Dropbox, or Microsoft Onedrive, only that it is a state service operated by the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT).
With bwSync&Share you can access your files from everywhere and also share files with others.

You are permitted to store personal data in bwSync&Share. However, it is the user's responsibility to ensure that no sensitive personal data within the meaning of Art. 9 of the General Data Protection Regulation, data with illegal content, or data that violates the copyright or property rights of third parties are stored.
Deprovisioning plan
Deletion of the data of users of the participating institutions after deactivation of the Hohenheim user account (e.g., by leaving, exmatriculation) on the part of the provider.
Shared directories and files during deprovisioning
Ownership of shared files and directories must be transferred to another active user before deactivating the Hohenheim user account.

bwSync&Share is based on the cloud technology of nextcloud
Legacy system Powerfolder
On 1 April 2020, the cloud technology Powerfolder was replaced by nextcloud. Until 30 April 2020, the previous Powerfolder instance will be available in read-only mode at this address:
When you log in for the first time, a Nextcloud account is automatically created for you after you have agreed to the terms of use. The account can be used immediately.
Use with Windows, Mac, and Linux
On Windows, Mac, and Linux, you can also install a browser-independent app that lets you synchronize local directories with the cloud and other devices:
