Personal storage
Store your files in a central location: on our file server. Holders of a Hohenheim user account automatically have a home directory on the file server to store their personal files. You can access the home directory from several computers and locations to manage or back up files.
Features
Size of home directory
- 15 GB as standard
- If you need a larger project directory, please send an informal request to speicherplatz@uni-hohenheim.de.
Access worldwide
You have several options to access your home directory from outside the university:
- using a VPN connection
- using the webmail file manager: see instructions
- using SFTP
- using the console (SSH)
Back-up
Your directories are backed up daily, and the back-up is made automatically. The data you save there is well-secured. You can restore your data from snapshots up to a month into the past if necessary: see instructions.
The data older than one month can be retrieved by KIM "to the day" for you from the TSM-BackUp.
