Procedure

Use of the ArcGIS Pro software

  • Please send an informal e-mail to kim-software@uni-hohenheim.de
  • You will then be registered in the Portal for ArcGIS of the University of Hohenheim and will receive the access data for an Esri online account by e-mail.
  • Now, as a student, you can use ArcGIS Pro with all extensions and additional apps as long as you are a member of the University of Hohenheim.

ATTENTION!!
In the long term ArcGIS Pro will replace the old ArcGIS for Desktop or ArcMap. Therefore we recommend that you familiarise yourself with the new software. The new software has the same functions as ArcGIS for Desktop or ArcMap and will be continuously developed.

You can find a short introduction to the operation or the change from ArcMap to ArcGIS Pro here.

Use of the ArcGIS for Desktop software

If you still want to use the old ArcGIS for Desktop software, please follow these steps:

  • Apply for inclusion in the ILIAS course “ArcGIS”
  • There you will find the software for download and instructions on how to obtain the licence via the university's central licence server.

IMPORTANT: You need an active VPN connection to use ArcGIS for Desktop.

If you need help or have questions about the software products offered, please contact kim-software@uni-hohenheim.de
