Library account
To use the KIM Library, you need a library card and a library account.
Please present the library card each time you want to check something out. The media are booked on your library account.
The library account will be created for you at the Central Library Circulation Counter, Garbenstraße 15. To register for a library account, please bring the status form for employees signed by the institute/department, your personal ID card (or a passport with a registration card) and – if you have one – your university employee ID card. Your employee ID card can be activated as a library card when you register, or you can have a library card issued to you.
A non-personal department account can be set up for inter-library loan functions for the different departments (see “Fachgebietskonto”). Inter-library loan fees for these accounts are settled annually by KIM via internal billing with the department.
How to access your library account
You can view your library account via the Hohenheim Catalog.
Your user ID is your user number. You can find this number on your library card. Your password was given to you at registration. When you log in for the first time, you will need to change the password.
