Library account

To use the KIM Library, you need a library card and a library account.
You do not need to request these separately. Your employee ID card is also your library card. Your data are automatically added to the library system, and a library account is set up.

If you do not have an employee ID card, a paper library card can be issued for borrowing materials from the library. Please contact the circulation desk at the Central Library.

A non-personal department account can be set up for inter-library loan functions for the different departments (see “Fachgebietskonto”). Inter-library loan fees for these accounts are settled annually by KIM via internal billing with the department.

Functions of the library account

  • Overview of all media on loan
  • Renewal of the loan period
  • View your reservations and online orders (inter-library loan requests and orders from the external stacks).
  • View your overdue notices and other notifications
  • View the address saved for your account
  • Reserve media on loan
  • Submit inter-library loan requests

How to access your library account
