Acquisition consultation

According to the specification of the administration’s handbook, medium acquisitions in the library are to be coordinated to systematically build up the stock, and the means for the book and periodical purchases are to be used optimally, i.e. unnecessary duplications are to be avoided, the number of necessary additional purchases is to be increased, and altogether as broad a supply as possible of relevant titles is to be made available (see manual of the administration, procurement system - literature procurement, 11 L 1).

Within the library system, the KIM library coordinates media acquisitions.

Affected types of media

The types of media which must be consulted on (regardless of the procurement title) are:

• Journals
• Serial Publications
• Electronical media (e-journals, e-books, subject databases, etc.)

The purchase of individual books does not have to be coordinated with the KIM.

Procedure

Please fill out the consultation request, sign it and send it either by internal mail to the KIM Library or send it as an e-mail attachment to zeitschriften@uni-hohenheim.de. After the library has given its approval, please include a copy of the request with each invoice instruction.
