Access to Hohenheim network

Here you can learn how to connect your notebook or personal computer at your desk on campus in order to use printers, e-mail or the Internet.

Settings

What you should know before configuring the network:

Standard gateway / Router
144.41.x.1
the first three numbers are the same as the IP address, the final number is 1

DNS server
144.41.2.20, 144.41.5.20

Name

Host (Computer name)
Please specify yourself

Domain (Primary DNS suffix of the computer)
you may need to ask KIM

Procedure

You can send us the following information by telephone (+49 711 459-24444) or by email:

  1. Your institute no.
  2. Building number and floor of your workplace
  3. Desired name of your PC

After we have set up an IP address, you can start with the network configuration of your PC.
