Archiving times
- Files which are located on your Storage Protect Client will be kept as long as you want (last “active” versions). You can restore the penultimate version, called “inactive” in Storage Protect jargon, for 30 days.
- Files that you have deleted will also be deleted in the backup after 60 days. This means that you can still restore deleted files for 60 days.
- You can see this information in the backup client under Utilities/Display policy information.
- Files that you archive are kept on the server for 365 days, after which they are deleted without further inquiry. Deviating retention periods are possible on request with justification. If needed, please contact us directly via email at kim-backup@uni-hohenheim.de.
