Loan pool

You can borrow IT devices for free for a short period of time.

Loan Equipment

Your advantages

  • Access to hardware you rarely need
The loan pool serves to bundle the need for devices which would not be fully used by individual University institutions. For you that means that you do not need to worry about procurement and still have access to the use of such devices.
  • Shortages
If your own device is being repaired or if there are other shortages such as due to conferences, you can use our loan equipment.
  • Notebook pools
If you need IT equipment for seminars outside of a CIP room, we have a notebook pool available.

Requirements

  • Equipment is loaned only to University institutions
It is unfortunately not possible to loan equipment to employees or students for private use.
  • Short loan period
Long-term or frequent needs of individual institutions cannot be covered. Devices are usually loaned for one or two days.
Instructions

  1. Terms of use
Acquaint yourself with the terms of use. There you will also find additional guidelines about notebooks.
  2. Loan form
Please fill out the loan form and send it to kim-it-leihpool@uni-hohenheim.de. You will then hear from us whether the device you would like to borrow is available.
You can find information on the individual devices and the respective forms here:

  3. Pick-up
To pick up the device, bring the loam form and a valid photo ID (person ID, passport, driving licence, ...).
The devices can be picked up in BIO I, Basement, Room 21.U153 (IT Service Desk) during regular opening hours (there is a freight elevator).
  4. Return
When you return the device, KIM will check whether it is complete and confirm this on the loan form. Returns can also be done daily at the IT Service Desk during regular opening hours.

Please note:

Exceeding the loan period
If you exceed the agreed upon loan period, a fee of 20 Euros per calendar day will be charged. If it exceeds the agreed upon load period multiple times, an institute may lose the right to borrow equipment.

Loss / Damage
The institution which borrowed the device is liable in the event of loss or damage. KIM will have the equipment repaired at the cost of the institution or the current value will be invoiced.
