Corresponding Authors of the University of Hohenheim receive a 15% discount on the APC for a publication in Science Advances. After the article has been accepted for publication, the affiliation discount must be selected. Publication fees are charged directly to the authors.

ACM (contract period 2024 - 2026)

Corresponding Authors of the University of Hohenheim can publish in hybrid journals and in Gold Open Access journals and Conference Proceedings Series without incurring any costs. An overview of the list of ACM publications that are eligible for Open Access publication can be found here.

Please use your Hohenheim e-mail address in the publication process, as the publisher only verifies authors via the e-mail domain @uni-hohenheim.de. Otherwise, publication free of charge is not possible.

Cambridge University Press (contract period 2022 - 2025)

Corresponding Authors at the University of Hohenheim can publish in hybrid and Gold Open Access journals without incurring any costs.

Elsevier (Project DEAL, contract period 2024 - 2028)

Publishing in hybrid journals (Core Hybrid, CP/TL Hybrid)

Submitting Corresponding Authors of the University of Hohenheim can publish Open Access in hybrid journals without incurring any costs (including the hybrid journals of the Cell Press and The Lancet brands). Additional page and editorial charges are not covered by the contract and must be paid by the authors themselves.

Publishing in Gold Open Access journals (Core Gold, CP/TL Gold)

There are costs for publishing in Gold Open Access journals. Submitting Corresponding Authors of the University of Hohenheim receive a 20% discount on the APC list prices of the Elsevier Fully Gold Open Access journals and a 15% discount on the list prices of the Fully Gold Cell Press and The Lancet journals. Publication fees are initially invoiced centrally via KIM and then passed on to the authors/faculty departments.

Frontiers (contract period 01.10.2024 - 31.12.2026)

Corresponding Authors of the University of Hohenheim receive a 10% discount on the APC if they publish in Frontiers journals. Please use your Hohenheim e-mail address in the publication process or select “University of Hohenheim” so that Frontiers can verify your institutional affiliation. Publication fees are initially invoiced centrally via KIM and then passed on to the authors/faculty departments.

Nature Journals (contract period 2021 - 2024)

Publishing in hybrid journals

Corresponding Authors of the University of Hohenheim can publish in Nature and in Nature Branded Research journals in hybrid Open Access. There are no publication fees.

Please note: Nature Reviews journals and Nature Protocols are excluded from this. Publishing in these journals is subject to a fee; publication fees are charged directly to the authors. Publications in Nature Communications and Scientific Reports are also subject to a fee; the publication fees are initially invoiced centrally via KIM and then passed on to the authors/faculty departments.

Corresponding Authors of the University of Hohenheim can publish Open Access in hybrid journals without incurring any costs.

Publishing in Gold Open Access journals

There are costs for publishing in Gold Open Access journals. Corresponding Authors of the University of Hohenheim receive a 20% discount on the APC list prices. This discount is automatically applied in the SAGE Open Access Portal. Publication fees are charged directly to the authors.

Publishing in hybrid journals (Springer Open Choice)

Corresponding Authors of the University of Hohenheim can publish Open Access in hybrid journals without incurring any costs.

Additional page charges, fees for colour illustrations, etc. are not covered by the contract and must be paid by the authors themselves.

Publishing in Gold Open Access journals (Fully Open Access)

There are costs for publishing in Gold Open Access journals. Corresponding Authors of the University of Hohenheim receive a 20% discount on the APC list prices of all Springer Open and BioMed Central titles. This discount does not apply to Nature Communications and Scientific Reports. Publication fees are initially invoiced centrally via KIM and then passed on to the authors/faculty departments.
