The University Council suggested collecting key research figures. Four of these research figures for the University are publication figures. The basic data to calculate them are taken from the University bibliography.

With the help of the research figures, the publication activity of the University member and thus one aspect of the University’s productivity can be measured. By collecting research figures, the University of Hohenheim can show the scientific community, researchers, and the interested public its research results, demonstrate transparency, and be held accountable for its activities.

The creation of the University bibliography also make sit possible to access the bibliographical data of the scientific publications from Hohenheim scientists from around the world. In part, these data are also supplemented with links to the full text. In addition, journal articles and edited works (e.g. from conference proceedings, reference works, and subject-area books) can be researched which were previously not available in bibliographies.
