New Open Access agreements and funding opportunities [21.01.25]
The University of Hohenheim has further expanded its Open Access initiatives and concluded DEAL-like agreements with other publishers that enable authors to publish journal articles free of charge or at a discount. The aim is to promote the publication of academic work in Open Access and to facilitate access to research results for the general public.
New contracts
The following new agreements offer researchers the opportunity to publish their work Open Access free of charge:
- American Chemical Society – ACS
- Biochemical Society Journals
- The Company of Biologists
- Rockefeller University Press
As a corresponding author, you also receive discounts on article processing charges and page charges from the following publishers:
- American Society for Microbiology – ASM (25 % discount on the page charges of selected magazines)
- Frontiers (10 % discount on APCs)
- MDPI (30 % discount on APCs)

Publication fund
We would also like to draw your attention to the University of Hohenheim's Publication Fund. Researchers at the University can use this fund to apply for a grant to cover the costs of Open Access publications.
