Critical vulnerability in Chrome, Edge and others [02.09.22]
Recently, a new vulnerability in Chromium has been reported in various media. The critical vulnerability has a score of 10 out of 10 on a vulnerability scale. The vulnerability affects all browsers that are based on Chromium. Therefore, Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, Opera and others are affected. If a user uses one of the affected browsers and calls up a correspondingly crafted website, malicious code can be injected and executed via the vulnerability.
Affected are:
- Chrome versions lower than version 104.0.5112.111
- Microsoft Edge versions lower than version 105.0.5195.54
Until an updated version is made available or installed, it is recommended to avoid using Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, Opera and all other affected browsers and use Mozilla Firefox instead.
