Zoom Live Captioning: Borrowing licences for individual events [13.10.26]
For events with an international audience or with participants who have difficulty following the spoken word, KIM provides licences for live subtitling in Zoom on a borrowing basis.
What is being said appears as subtitles in Zoom, in a different language if required. Each person sets their own language preference and can see who is speaking at any given moment.
This function requires an additional licence, which is subject to a fee and is not included in the university’s campus licence. The KIM has five such licences available and grants them on a temporary basis for the period requested, for example for conferences, guest lectures, block courses or international events. It is not possible to borrow a licence on a long-term basis, for example for a lecture series running throughout the semester.
Please send your enquiry to schnell-digital@uni-hohenheim.de, stating the institution, event and time period. KIM will check availability and then assign the licence to your Zoom account. Once the licence has expired, it will be released again so that as many events as possible can benefit from subtitling.
