Tips for VPN problems
Are you getting an error code from the VPN client?
If you have access to the Internet, you can also enter the error code directly on the Cisco pages and receive an explanation.
When connecting to the Cisco Secure Client on Linux, the following error message appears: “The following Certificate received from the Server could not be verified”
- Problem
The Cisco Secure Client (formerly AnyConnect) searches the operating system for valid SSL root certificates in various places. Unfortunately, the SSL root certificates are not always stored in the same place on different Linux distributions. For this reason, it is possible that no suitable SSL root certificate can be found when connecting and the above error message appears.
- Solution
Download the following certificate file:
https://pki.pca.dfn.de/dfn-ca-global-g2/pub/cacert/chain.txt
Rename the "chain.txt" file to "Hohenheim_vpn_chain.pem" and copy it to:
/etc/ssl/certs
Restart the Cisco Secure Client.
