Access to electronic journals (EZB)

General information

In the Electronic Journals Library (EZB), KIM Hohenheim provides the full text of electronic journals. KIM is not responsible for technical problems with the publishers’ server.

e-journals licensed to the University of Hohenheim are marked with a yellow or yellow dotyellow-red dot and only available to computers in the Hohenheim campus network (IP numbers starting with 144.41).

University of Hohenheim members can access almost all e-journals even from outside the campus network. Those who are not members of the University of Hohenheim can only research in the e-journals on the PCs within the KIM library.

Access when off campus

If you want to access these e-journals from outside the campus network, you have the following options:

  1. Internet access via the VPN service

  2. Go online using any Internet provider. As soon as you have accessed an e-journal via the EZB, select the institution “Universität Hohenheim” under Login via your Institution/Institutional login. Enter the account number and password of your library card here (Shibboleth Identity Provider Login). With this authentication, only library users who are members or affiliates of the University of Hohenheim are accepted. Via Shibboleth you only have access to a part of the resources, as not all publishers support this authentication.

Access issues

If you experience access issues, please check the following:

  • Determine if your Internet browser is using a proxy server, and if so, temporarily deactivate it.
  • Sometimes you may need to accept cookies to obtain access to full texts.
  • Please check if special restrictions apply to the publisher or journal (such as password access or access only to particular years).
