HohSearch – a new search engine for books and articles (beta version)  [02.07.14]

Whereas in the past many different library catalogues, subject databases, publishing platforms or search engines had to be consecutively searched, now a central access point for the literature search is available with "HohSearch".

What is behind HohSearch?

With a search query you can search the local index "Books & more" and a global index "Articles & more". The local index reflects the Hohenheim library collection. In the global index EDS of the company EBSCO, you can find references of over 24,000 publishers, content of subject databases that are licensed for Hohenheim (e.g. Scopus, Business Source Premier), but also sources that are freely available on the internet (e.g. scientific publication servers). Through modern search engine technology, you get results at cyberspeed.

For Hohenheim library holdings an availability indicator is offered directly from the result list and pair the lending system. For other results you are forwarded directly to the electronic full text – if available for the Hohenheim campus - via a link resolver.

Your feedback is important to us! We would like to use the test phase of the beta version to optimize “HohSearch” together with you.
