Webinar for authors - Choosing the right CC license (December 5, 2024)  [20.11.24]

When publishing research results in open access, the choice of Creative Commons (CC) license is crucial.

To give authors an insight into the choice of license and its further implications, the MPDL Services gGmbH invites scientific authors who publish in journals from the publishers Elsevier, Springer Nature or Wiley under the DEAL agreements to a webinar.

You will learn:

  • why CC BY is the best choice for research publications in most cases and why other license types such as “non-commercial” have limitations,
  • how to find your way through the DEAL publication process to select your preferred license,

and you will gain insights into the contractual conditions of the author's contract (“license to publish”) based on the license you have chosen.

Speakers:

  • Prof. Dr. Gerard Meijer, spokesperson for the DEAL consortium and one of the main negotiators of the DEAL agreements, will open the session
  • the team at MPDL Services gGmbH will guide you through the publishers' workflow

When: December 5, 2024 at 10 a.m.
