Hohenheim user account: "forgotten password" [11.08.22]
For reasons of data protection, we can only reset a forgotten password as part of an identification process upon presentation of an official identification document (ID card or passport). This identification takes place exclusively and in person on site at the IT service desk during service hours. Due to recent media reports (including heise.de), the option of video identification is no longer available.
Is there a "forgot password" function?
Yes, the "forgotten password" function is available on a voluntary basis for independently setting a new password. For this, however, an alternative e-mail address and a PIN must be deposited with the Hohenheim user account in advance. This function can be set up and thus activated here. After entering the access data for the Hohenheim user account, the input mask appears directly.
If you have forgotten the password and stored the data, then you can set a new password here independently after entering your user ID and PIN.
We strongly advise to activate the "forgot password" function, so that e.g. in case of a stay abroad the process to reset the password can be done independently.
