Notes

Forwarding emails

Starting with the summer semester 2024, the function for forwarding emails to external mail servers will be deactivated.

This step is being taken in accordance with the Rectorate's resolution of June 20, 2023, which does not permit such forwarding.

Outlook app for iOS and Android

The use of the Outlook app for iOS and Android is not permitted at the University of Hohenheim for security reasons. When you log in for the first time, the device sends the username, password and a specially generated "device key" via a secure connection. However, this information is only encrypted if there is a connection to a Microsoft Exchange server, which is not the case at the University of Hohenheim. In addition, Microsoft servers store information, which is not permitted according to ยง 7 para. 2 lit. e of the University of Hohenheim's user regulations.

ILIAS mail

The University of Hohenheim also offers access to ILIAS, an eLearning platform. ILIAS has an internal mail function, often referred to as "ILIAS mail". Please note that ILIAS-Mail is only used for internal communication within the ILIAS platform and has nothing to do with your regular Hohenheim email account or the webmail service.
