Access to Hohenheim network via eduroam

Check before your trip

• whether the eduroam connection and, if necessary, the VPN connection work on your computer 
• and whether the institution you’re visiting supports this roaming service:
  scientific institutions with eduroam in Germany
  scientific institutions with eduroam worldwide

To connect via eduroam, you will need to install access to eduroam on your device.

Windows/iOS/MacOS/Linux: You call up the page https://cat.eduroam.org/ in the browser (Edge, Internet Explorer, Firefox, Chrome, Safari etc.) on the device concerned. Usually your operating system is recognised immediately and you only need to select the home organisation, in our case the University of Hohenheim, and follow the instructions. After that, other steps are necessary depending on the operating system. Here we refer to the installation instructions linked below.

Android: Download the "geteduroam" app onto your device and follow the instructions.

Test in Hohenheim

If you are planning on using eduroam outside of Hohenheim, it is a good idea to test it briefly on the premises before you leave. You can find eduroam networks in all areas on the campus equipped with WiFi.

• To set up eduroam, please refer to the eduroam installation instructions.

Eduroam isn’t working?

• Make sure that your WiFi is working.
• Make sure that you have entered “Hohenheim user account"@uni-hohenheim.de (e. g. saloki22@uni-hohenheim.de) for your identity and not your email address (firstname.surname@uni-hohenheim.de).
• If you need to enter a domain, please enter uni-hohenheim.de.
