Signatures and locations

In the Central Library (ZB) you can find the textbook collection for all subjects as well as the reading room collection with a focus on agricultural and natural sciences. Monographs and journals are systematically organised. Books on the same topic are therefore usually found together.

In the Departmental Library (BB), the monographs in the reading room as well as journals in the journal reading room are also arranged systematically.

External storage of partial holdings

For space-saving reasons, the KIM Library is forced to store part of the older literature in external stacks. You can order media from these stacks as an online request from the Hohenheim Catalogue.
Three times a week, on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, orders from the external stacks will be picked up. It is NOT possible to pick up books directly from the external stacks.

Central Library

Books of the Central Library usually have a (relatively long) call number starting with two letters and in most cases are located either at the location "Textbook Collection" or at the location "Reading Room ZB".

Departmental Library

Books in the Departmental Library usually have a call number beginning with 4 numbers and a slash and are usually located in "Reading Room BB". You can find out in which of the Departmental Library's reading rooms a book can be found by looking at a table (on a board at the circulation counter or online).

Types of borrowing

Borrowable copies are marked in the catalog with availability information. If all copies are borrowed, a reservation can be made.
