Journal articles

The Hohenheim Catalogue does not list journal articles. Articles from journals and collected editions, which were written by Hohenheim scientists are listed in the University bibliography. To be able to find articles by other authors, we recommend the following approaches, depending on your research objective:

Research for articles on a specific topic

In order to find articles as well as very recent literature, it is recommended that you search using a database specific to the subject. The database information system (DBIS) gives you access to specialist databases, including those licensed for the University of Hohenheim. The databases contain literature references to a subject area, independent of a library's holdings.

As a result of your search, you will receive the most important bibliographic information (title, author, source) as well as the abstract. Many databases offer you the possibility to check whether the media is available in the local library catalog. If something is not available in Hohenheim, there is the possibility of inter-library loan.

In full text databases (e.g. Business Source Premier) you can access documents independently of the licensed electronic journals.

Search for articles by a Hohenheim scientist

The University Bibliography records publications (articles, books, conference contributions) by Hohenheim scientists from 2005 onwards.

If the publication is available in the KIM library, the call number and location are noted. If the media is electronic, you will find the link to the full text in the University Bibliography.

Books and articles from journals that are not in the KIM collection can be ordered via inter-library loan from the Hohenheim Catalog.

Search for a specific article (complete citation available)

You already have the exact details of an article, for example:

"Teige, LD: Cost, supply and farm structure: a pedagogical note.- In: J. Agric. Econ. Res. 45.1993, H. 1. p. 27-32, 11 ref., - ISSN 1043-3309."

In this case, first check in the Hohenheim Catalog and in the Electronic Journals Library (EZB) whether the journal, in this case "Agricultural Economics Research," is available in Hohenheim in printed and/or electronic form (see How do I find journals?)

If the journal is not available in Hohenheim, you can order the article via inter-library loan from the Hohenheim Catalog.
