The KIM Hohenheim Library provides specialist databases through the Database Info System (DBIS).
Databases licensed for the University of Hohenheim are marked in DBIS with a yellow traffic light and can be accessed on computers in the Hohenheim campus network (IP numbers starting with 144.41).
Those who are not members of the University of Hohenheim can only use the offerings on certain computers in the library.
Members and affiliates of the University of Hohenheim can access almost all databases when they are outside of the campus network, as well. The following options are available for this:
- Log in using the VPN service (you will need to install it) or
- Log in using any internet provider using the web login Shibboleth. After selecting a database in DBIS, you will be redirected to a login screen (Shibboleth Identity Provider Login). Enter the Hohenheim user name and password of your Hohenheim user account here. With this authentication, only library users who are members or affiliates of the University of Hohenheim are accepted.
Via Shibboleth you only have access to a part of the offering, as not all database providers support this authentication.
