Windows - Access via SSH

Download, installation and activation

Windows does not come with an appropriate console. You will need the free programme putty:

http://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~sgtatham/putty/

There, you can download the installer version of putty:
putty-...-installer.exe.

Furthermore, the use of this service must be requested and activated informally via email.

  • Set up the following server configuration:
    Host Name: [desired login server see above]
    Saved Sessions:     [desired login server see above]

  • Category [ Window | Translation ] (left)
  • Received data ... character set: UTF-8

  • Category [ Session ] (left)
  • Button [ Save ]

Log-in

  • Mark saved session
  • Button [ Open ]
>>
  • When connecting for first time:
    Button [ Ja (yes) ]

  • Enter your Hohenheim user account including the password.
