Protect your access data from phishing attacks! [16.02.24]
Recently, we have noticed an increase in phishing attacks on the University's user accounts, in which unauthorized third parties try to obtain your personal access data.
Please note that we will never ask you for your password or confidential login details via email. It is important to understand that legitimate requests for sensitive information are not made via email and you should never click on links in emails that ask you to enter your password.
To ensure that you do not fall victim to phishing attacks, please observe the following security advice:
- Be suspicious of unexpected emails: be wary of emails that appear unexpected or contain suspicious attachments or links. Carefully check the link/sender address to make sure it is a legitimate source.
- Check URLs: Before clicking on a link, check the URL to make sure it is legitimate. If you are unsure, open the website manually via your browser instead of clicking on the link.
- Watch out for phishing warnings: Pay attention to warnings and notices we provide via our info pages.
- Report suspicious emails: If you receive a suspicious email, please report it immediately to the Information Security Office (itsec@uni-hohenheim.de). We are here to help you and ensure that our digital environment remains secure.
Your cooperation is crucial to ensure the security of our digital systems. If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact the University of Hohenheim Information Security.
Thank you for your attention and cooperation!
