Internet access via VPN

If your home facility supports VPN connection, you can use it to connect to your home facility and the Internet from the University of Hohenheim. You will receive and IP address from your home facility and be granted the same rights you would have there.

Cisco Secure Client (formerly AnyConnect) supports only the current operating systems.

Before travelling

Please make sure the VPN connection works on your device before coming to Hohenheim. It will be difficult to install VPN here in Hohenheim, as you require software and installation guides from your home facility.

Accessing the Internet via eduroam

  • Connect to the network using an ethernet cable or WiFi on the network HoWLAN2
  • Start your VPN client and identify yourself with the user account at your home institution
  • You can now use the Internet and other resources of your home institution
