Renewing the Wi-Fi Profile for eduroam

Important Information for Wi-Fi Access via eduroam

On November 21, 2026, the current security certificate for our eduroam access will expire. Therefore, a new eduroam profile from the University of Hohenheim is now available and must be installed.

Who is affected?

Anyone who set up eduroam on a device before September 23, 2026. Please renew the profile on each of these devices (smartphone, laptop, tablet, etc.) by November 21, 2026, at the latest. Otherwise, eduroam Wi-Fi access will no longer work on that device after that date.

If you set up eduroam on or after September 23, 2026, you do not need to do anything.

Not sure if this affects you? Just renew the profile – it only takes a few minutes and won’t cause any problems.

Detailed information and installation instructions for each operating system can be found under Installation Guides (info box on the right-hand side).

Important Note

The eduroam username consists of the username for your Hohenheim user account followed by @uni-hohenheim.de (example: abcdef123@uni-hohenheim.de).

What applies to systems managed centrally by KIM

For systems that receive software updates automatically from KIM - such as those used in administration - the following applies: KIM provides an update via the DSM Installer. When using eduroam, you simply need to enter the username of your Hohenheim user account, followed by @uni-hohenheim.de, and the corresponding password.
