HPC at Noon - GNU Parallel u SLURM srun , 22 February 2022  [02.02.22]

As a researcher or student at the University of Hohenheim, you can use the High-Performance Computers provided in Baden-Württemberg for your simulations or data-intensive calculations.
The KIM's bwHPC & FDM team offers a Zoom online course "HPC at noon" on Tue 2 February 2022, 12pm -14:30pm in which two "general-purpose" methods, GNU Parallel and SLURM srun, will be presented. These tools allow to calculate independent computational steps in parallel, e.g. on the bwUniCluster.
This event is level-wise a follow-up course to the introduction course to bwHPC and is aimed at bwHPC users from all disciplines who want to take their first steps into parallelisation. Participants should have basic knowledge of Linux bash and a general understanding of job management on the bwUniCluster. Active access to the High-Performance Computer is required for the exercises. Parallelisation via MP/MPI is not yet covered in this course.
For more information and the link to register, see F.I.T.
